Congratulations to the winners of Brevard little Theatre's 2009 New Play Competition. Full-Length Play Category: Birds in the Weather by David Muschell of Milledgeville, Georgia, USA One-Act Play Category: Kitchen Sink by Paula Stone of Bethesda, Maryland, USA Short Play Category: The Life of Trees by Peter Snoad of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA All three authors will be honored at a luncheon in May 2010, on the yet to be determined day of the "World Premier" opening of Birds in the Weather on our American Legion Main Stage, in Brevard. At the planned luncheon Kitchen Sink and The Life of Trees will also be given "World Premier" presentations by the BLT Reader's Theatre Group. Congratulations to all winning authors, as well as thanks to all the authors who submitted over 130 plays, in all categories, to the 2009 New Play Competition. The final choice made in each category was very difficult, as several plays that rose to the top were distinguished works. As this year's Competition draws to a close, our theatrical "hats" are also off to the 12 Brevard Little Theatre Judges - a diverse talented group of BLT supporters from our entire membership - who have worked diligently to assure that each and every script submitted received fair and equal attention. Only through each judge's dedication did the most worthy of the wonderful get honored as Brevard Little Theatre New Play Competition, "Winners."
